Wyoming winters, plain language, songs that mean what they say on the tin. He's the one who shows up sober and stays that way until the work is honest.
I manage the room. I've watched this industry chew through better people than you've heard of. Doug is the real one. My job is to make sure it stays that way.
B-side
Doug thinks he wrote these. He's not entirely wrong. He had help from a direction he wasn't looking. The listener will figure it out.
I'll tell you when it matters. Doug won't remember to. That's why I'm the one keeping track.
